Marijuana Oil uses and benefits

 THC Oil For Pain

THC Oil For Pain. Marijuana oil. What is it and how does it work?
Cannabis oils are extracts from the cannabis plant. When unprocessed, they contain the same 100 or so active components as the plants. But the chemical mix changes depending on the plants from which the oil is extracted. The two primary active components in cannabis plants are cannabidiol (CBD) and delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Oil extracted from hemp plants contains a high concentration of CBD. whereas oil extracted from skunk plants contains a high concentration of THC. THC produces the high that recreational cannabis users seek, but CBD-rich oils are used to treat medicinal conditions.

THC Oil For Pain

Marijuana oil is an anticonvulsant, and other plant substances such as THC and cannabidivarin may be as well. Clinical trials in the United States and Europe have shown that pharmaceutical CBD formulations can effectively cure two severe forms of pediatric epilepsy known as Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. Existing epileptic medicines frequently fail to improve both types of seizures. CBD is usually regarded as safe, but adverse symptoms such as dry mouth, lightheadedness, and altered liver enzyme activity have been documented in some studies.

Isn’t it true that we already have marijuana-based medications?
In Europe, four medications based on cannabis components are already available. Nabilone, a synthetic THC-like substance, is prescribed for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.  Sativex, an oil containing equal parts THC and CBD, is used to alleviate muscle spasms in multiple sclerosis patients. Both are too high in THC to be given to children. “The only drugs licensed in the UK would get kids stoned,” said David Nutt, a neuropsychopharmacology professor at Imperial College in London.
Other forms of cannabis are solid and are usually sold either as resin or dried plant material. In commercially-produced medical cannabis oils, the concentrations of CBD and THC tend to be well-controlled, which makes it easy to calculate doses.
